An Excuse for a Post

Juliet is left-handed.

Around 13 years after its release, I finally get to watch Baz Luhrmann's Romeo x Juliet.

Great movie. :D

However, as I am bad with movie reviews and all, I shall make this into a quote post. ^^,

"He was a soldier, and if anyone had asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, he wouldn't have known what they meant."

This line here is what endeared the little Bean to softhearted lil me. Awwwwe. Etc.

Anyway, since I have a headache right now and am basically making this post for the reason spelled out by the permalink of this post, uhh... I don't really have much to say.

It was a very heart-wrenching line for me, and I'm not being sarcastic here. I do, in fact, have a heart, that can, in fact, be wrenched.

My head aches away my blogging strength. This kind of implies that I actually use my head for blogging. This is where speculations on the nature of the contents of my head begin.

The Matrix Trilogy--

I just rewatched The Matrix Reloaded. Weeks ago, I rewatched The Matrix.
In my mind, these are classics, oh yeah~
They bring such wonderful entertainment into my boring little life~ ;3
Memorable lines would include...
"I know Kung-fu."
"There is no spoon. (Repeat n times)" [the elevator scene]
The Smith's speech on why humans are viruses and not mammals despite having mammary glands. ETC.
It's all hard to depict in words~
[I have this nagging feeling that I've actually already blogged about rewatching The Matrix, but I'm not sure, so hucarez~ I can blog all I want.]

I gotta quote the French Guy though:

I just gotta mention this. Before I actually got exposed to the Japanese Language this much because of anime, French was perhaps the first foreign language I wanted to learn. I even got a book. But as fate would have it, I lost it. And now I'm in love with Japanese instead. However, as I am a creature whose motivations do not lie along the lines of love, as it seems, at least... I still haven't learned Japanese even after YEARS. Either that, or I'm just plain lazy.
Yes, my latest big procrastination campaign has been running for months now.
Our (me and myself and even more me's) battlecry is "Put off ALL and WIN."
Our official purpose-filled question is "What thesis?"
Ah, yes, ignorance is bliss~ Never mind that it's an illusory one.
My imagination is INFALLIBLE.

The Matrix Reloaded came out when I was in High School which made it rather memorable, since I watched it on the big screen. First up was that movie tickets lady who almost wouldn't let me in 'cuz it was rated R-13. WUDDAHELL?? I was freakin 15!!! Well, what can I do, I look young. ;)) Awweee, shucks. ;))
Another memory it brings back is the KFC guy fun.
Who knew the creator of the world-famous fried chicken was the resident Architect of the Matrix? Welcome to Neo-Generation Evangelion Salvation (K.F.C.).




It goes without saying that Zion Salvation is the new kind of chicken around. Well, apparently, Neo heard wrong, he went for Trinity Salvation Sandwich instead, in the end. It must be the spice. He just can't resist. Pfft, earthlings.
Matrix is actually a whole load of lulz material.
I'm not good at it though, and I'm too lazy to go photoshooping, so that's all the photoshop failure this blog is ever gonna get from me.

Moral: WHY is powaa.
Secondary Moral: Bullets != Squids. I have figured. Now you go figure.

dNeero 007-009 & The TALENTED Mr. Ripley

I can't believe I only got to watch such a great movie about a decade after it came out! But I guess the fact that it came out almost a decade ago is itself the reason why I didn't get to watch it until now.
I'll save more of my comments after I rewatch it. ^____^
I'll continue the Geass entry tomorrow. ^___^
For now, all I can really say is I'm so happy to have watched such a great movie.

The Dark Knight

But this movie should've been entitled The Joker or some creative way to say that (sorry, brain's not cooperating). Why? This isn't about Batman vs. Joker. This is about the whole city vs. Joker. So Joker is the main character, even though he's the antagonist. His character came out so strongly, and Batman was just a shadow in this movie. And because of that, darnit, I give it a freakin 9.9! I don't like overly dramatic martyrdom drama, that's why. But heck, I don't really care 'cuz I just enjoyed the movie, mostly!
Hey, maybe they even messed up the drama part 'cuz they enjoyed the Joker so much but they had to, you know, somehow make it look like Batman was the main character, thus the martyrdom drama at the end. Good enough attempt, I suppose! But Joker still wins, lol.
And I will never wear hockey pads and ALWAYS bring a peeler with me!

Well, I guess I just like these types of movies. The action-packed, funny-convo packed, funstuff-packed kind of movies. Just like the Matrix! "I know kung fu." LOL.

dNeero 005 and Wall-e

I watched Wall-e.
Well, the idea was interesting... The spaceship world made me think of Macross, though, of course, in Macross you get cutey pretty songstresses and a kabuki-actor-hime, and in Wall-E you get cute robots and obese residents. Haha.
Well, the robots were cute enough.
But I thought the story was really flat.
But I forgive it for the cockroach~
The cockroach saves the movie, yay~

Ender's Game Movie

I heard from a friend last summer that a movie was really going to be made for Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. As usual, I felt two ways about the news. One feeling is towards excitement on what it would be like if they can make it really good, and the other feeling is towards dread--dreading how they will butcher it. Then, I came across this comic strip that
introduced more things to dread about it. Good grief, Tekken meets Ender?? LOL. That was really LOL.
Anyway, after that, I decided to do a google on Ender's Game movie, which I've never done before.
I came across a blog that has information about the progress of the movie production so far. It seems Card is actively participating in the making of the movie and the script and has a say in the casting too, so I think it might not turn out bad after all.
The blog also contained other updates on Ender's Game stuff like the battle suits design and the Marvel Comics version. According to that article with the battle suits drawings, the Marvel Comic version was a lot different from the book, but it seems Card had a hand in that difference and was happy about it, so I'm hoping it really is good. After all, attached as I am to the book, I don't think being uber-faithful to the original story will be a good idea for both the movie and the comics. And I agree that it's good if the Marvel version is good according to Card, cuz yeah, that may well just be the basis of all-else-ender-related that will come out from then on.
Still though, I think some elements of the book would still be lost in the process, and I would definitely feel bad about it, no matter how much I know that that is inevitable and that if the makers (of both the movie and the comic) decided to stay uber-loyal, it'll just end up woooooorse.
So, as a fan, I hope that the brand new and different greatness of the movie and comic version will be enough to overshadow the possibly little disappointment I would feel about parts of the book being lost. ^_^
