So, uhh, why blog?

The truest truth is I don't really know.
I actually don't like spilling my thoughts around a very public place called the internet. I'd rather have my brains spilled out in outer space or something.
I guess it was mostly because of the idea of earning some extra cash through it.
But sometimes, I actually like ranting here. Sometimes, I regret ranting here.
But most of the time, I just really want the cash $____$.
But if I really just wanted cash, this blog shouldn't be so full of my real thoughts. But I guess I just can't force myself to go rant so much about things I don't really want to rant about especially when the stuff is all over the internet already.
So my conclusion: the internet is evil.
The world is twisted, and life sucks.
But cash is important if you choose to live anyway.
So I'll keep on worshipping detergent 'til I die 'cuz it'll prolly save my shoes one day. Then again, mud art anyone?
Cash is goooooooood~ if you have it.
So, that's that.

dNeero 004 and "Bugs"

Aside from the gestures when acting or singing, did you know that Japanese people have ermm.. rather unique shows?

Check out Round of the 12th (*engrish*) at Japanese Bug Fights. That was a rather action-packed (lol) match compared to the others. Basically, there was just more movement, and that's about it.

Well, that picture isn't for Round of the 12th (*engrish*), the one for that round sucked, soo... There. Anyway, I'm actually wondering if the one who made the site is actually even Japanese and if I'm actually right in pointing out (*engrish*) twice. But whadaheck, iduncare.

Anyway, back to the bugs... I'm not saying this interest in bug (those don't even really count as bugs anymore, do they? There were scorpions and lobsters. o_O) combat ability is unique to Japanese people. I'm not saying that they're the only ones who actually came up with a TV show on that. I'm just pointing out that they're actually one of the people who came up with such a show. I'm not saying that bug fights are really weird... Heck, I watched a couple of those, lol. But, well, still, it isn't popularly normal--something like that, but I think I'm somewhat getting my point across, am I not? ^^,

In fact, I used to play with spiders when I was a kid. I don't know the English term for those spiders, but they were kinda' small. When I say play, I mean spider fights. :D We make the spiders fight each other on a stick and watch as one dominates the other and the loser becomes the winner's lunch-to-go. Yeah, in a way, that has a really sick side to it, doesn't it? But kids are kids, fighting spiders are spiders, sticks are sticks. That's all there is to it. :P
~~

Well, enough of bugs...
Here we have a conversation about health food blah.
Oh, who knew junk could taste so good? Everyone, perhaps.

3. You know, sometimes the world can suck big time? And the funny thing is, it prolly feels like it sucks when it sucks the least. Oh yeah, my logic is the greatest and there's a million tonnes worth of sense in what I just said, I swear.

5. Yeah right. On and on it all goes, 'til all goes away~

7. Well, I'll remember it when I remember it. Never? Lalala.
8. Just to say this, even though I pointed out that such a show was rather unique, I wouldn't mind watching that. Just not ALL the time, of course. There's just something about bugs fighting. OMG, the spider games twisted me. o_O

Anime vs. People

Well, yesterday, I thought I was going to write an entry entitled "Why blog?". Then, I encountered something that changed my mind.
~~

So yesterday, I talked to my friend about how Japanese people acting can be weird and that I've always found anime to be a better way of expression, in general, for these people. Of course, that's not for all cases, but, in my experience, that holds true for a lot of cases.
So, there's this anime I'm currently watching called Natsume Yuujinchou.
And of course, it has an OP! And the youtube link for the PV was posted with the flac release at tokyotosho, so I went ahead and checked it out. First, let me give the translation for the TV size version of the song. Since I stuck to BSS and my download of the flac isn't done yet (I can't check the scans), I'll just use their TL without any modifications.

There you go, making that face again,
biting onto your lips.
You're hiding your weak side,
but deep in those eyes,
I can see you cowering.
If you had a true heart,
you would care, cry, call for someone, and worry.
Why are you holding onto the pain?
Share some of it with me.
If you don't think it's possible right away,
you can do it slowly, bit by bit.
We don't have wings,
but I'm sure we're only finding times that we can't fly.
I'll call for you to the limits of my voice
so that you won't get lost.
Soar up to the sky with your gentle heart,
ride on that wind, and get it all at once.

Now, here's the anime OP:

And here's the PV for the song:

UMM.
Yeah.
So, as you can see, they have weird gestures and stuff.
That monkey-like creature was cute though~! ^________^

But all in all, I really like that song. And I like the anime.
It says the things I wanna hear.
And I guess that would be all for that.
~~

I didn't get to play more Rune Factory, but it turns out, it only does that white-screen thing for the latest version (2.6a) of nocash. It works fine with the earlier version (2.6). So, uhh, that's that. Obviously, I failed myself again in all my plans. Sheesh. I really should just be awake at night so I get to do more. But I want to try to sleep normally. q_q
Oh well, sleep is a mystery.

Japanese VA GPS Stuff

"ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!!!"
KING OF NAVI!!!
It's Imperial GPS Power!!! LOLOL.

Then it's Xingke. Not Special. Just here 'cuz it's Geass.

Then it's Kugimiya Rie!! Nyahaha. Well, it's funny. ^_^

Was gonna try to look for more and all, but, I can't read Japanese and I'm too lazy to spend time on this. Saw some others but I haven't watched anything that has them in the cast, so I can't really relate, therefore, there is no place for them in this blog.

dNeero 002-003, etc.

I was thinking of writing more for today... But things didn't go as I planned.
Well, I played Harvest Moon DS earlier. Then I tried Rune Factory. I think I'll be playing Rune Factory from now on~ Erm.. I hope. Well, there's still something wrong with its compatibility with the emulators though. For desmume, it's too freakin slow. For iDeaS, it's not THAT slow, but the sound sucks. Even Harvest Moon audio sucks in iDeaS, so I guess that emu's audio just sucks? I don't know. NoCash was the best, so far. It can play the thing at full speed BUT, when I tried it earlier, at times, it freezes just after the opening video of the game. When the main menu is supposed to appear, all you see is whiiite. But it doesn't do that all the time.... sooo... Well, haven't figured it out, but haven't really read on other people's experiences yet. I tried tweaking some of the emulation settings, but so far, no luck. Well, I'll try again tomorrow, and I'll also try to look for clues in the big internet world. On the game itself, it seems interesting. Basically, you get to fight monsters and take care of your farm. There are also skill points, elemental stuff, different equipment, monster friends, and other stuff, I suppose. Also, the battles with the monster isn't turn-based, so it's kinda' fun. You can go run around~ I don't know if you can escape if you run fast enough or something though. I only played a couple of minutes to try it out, and I haven't read on it yet, so... Well, I'll play again tomorrow. ^_^ For tonight, an attempt to break away from my idleness is scheduled, so... Lalala.
~~

Now on to the dNeero stuff. Olympics-related. Uhm. Frosties and swimming go together? Wellllllll~~~~~~~~

And more VT. But's it's $, so..... yeah.

Various Variety

First: Hanare Toride no Yonna

It sucked. Big time. No story, sucky animation, lalala. No saving grace.
Well, I did have fun with the overly dramatic gestures:

And the stiff hair:

And the whatever-it-is:

You're better off not watching it though. Seriously.
~~

Second: D.Gray-Man

Since I stuck to Higure-Rumbel releases, I've only watched 'til episode 93. At some points, I would think, "Why am I watching this anime again?" But then some episodes would come out which remind me why I tolerate the poor storyboard/story flow. There's just something about D.Gray-Man, really. Well, I never read the manga so I don't know if it's the anime people's fault or actually the manga author's fault that there are stupid anime moments and all... But for all I don't like about it, the basic ideas and plot really make up for it. And the Kanda-Lavi-Allen fights~ ^_^ "Let's play catch with words"? HAHAHA. Fun. :D :D
~~

Third: Making April
I came across Making April's blog and youtube channel earlier.
So uhh... Making April Videos~ :D They're both covers. :D

EDIT: -08/28/08-
Just for the record, since I forgot to mention this even though I intended to when I wrote this thing... The screens above are supposed to be 16:9. Since Photoshop kept on crashing that time and I didn't feel like restarting for screens of a sucky show, I just let it be.

Densuke~

Meet Densuke. He's a cyber pet from Dennou Coil, an anime I recently finished watching. He's sooo cuute, and at the same time, kinda' ugly, huh? Weird~ :P But I reaally like Densuke~ If I someday have a dog, I'll name him Densuke~ If I someday get a dog plushie, I'll name him Densuke~ In fact, I want a Densuke plushie~~!!! Waaah!
Densuke~~ XD Densuke.. T_T
~
AHEM.
Well, if I were to rate Dennou Coil on a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 9.5. ^_^ It may lack a little, I can't quite put my finger on what, but really, it's a really good anime. This is one of the few anime that doesn't mess up the story flow in the end. It seeems to have been well planned, and the story is well-presented. The animation was great, the character art isn't the detailed kind, but it did fit the theme of the anime, I think. Plus, the background art is cool! Plus, Densuke~~
I would recommend watching it! Really, really, really!!
I really enjoyed this anime~
But I'm not good at summaries and stuff like that, so lalala~
~~

With the talk of Dennou Coil and cyberpets, I inevitably felt kind of bad that I may not live long enough to have fun with such things. But apparently, I may be mistaken. Meet EyePet, your PS3 pet. OMG, it's a lot like densuke already, hahaha.

Well, I'm really glad a friend found that and showed it to me. Densuke~ Hahaha.
~~

More on Densuke, THIS is a very expensive watermelon. Sheesh!! Hahahaha.
~~

And a little random story. It's just too funny, I can't resist.
We recently moved, and my Dad has a credit card. So they requested a change of address. The credit card bank then sent a letter confirming that they have received the request and that my Dad's address has now been changed from the [old address] to the [new address]. And........ They sent that to our old address!!!!! LOLOL.
Sheesh. It's really good our former house is just a few meters away. Hahahaha. Well, I got a laugh out of that, so, all in all~ it's gooood. Heehee. :D

YUI ~Summer Song~

Well, when I first saw the video for this song, I tried listening for the lyrics. And. Well, obviously, I failed. I remembered to search for it again, so here they are. I also looked for the TL, but I don't seem t agree with it entirely. Not that I'm an expert at Japanese, in fact, I'm a noob... But... Well, context stuff. So I tried adjusting it the TL I found to my own understanding. I have no idea, actually, who translated the thing, but credit for the original TL goes to him/her. Got the lyrics and orig TL here.

Here's my adjusted TL:

The sun is on my side as the suntanned you waves your hand to me
I'll be diving into the promised season I've been looking forward to, just like a mermaid

Within the school grounds, a sunflower is blooming
Just being shy would be uncool, wouldn't it?
To the extent of wanting to yell into the blue sky, I'm thinking of you now.

Summer is here, let's go to the sea!
Just for a while, let's stop. There are days when we wander around aimlessly too.

The everyday taken forgranted... Take back those days.
With you just there, just smiling...
The summer holidays are beginning!
Lalalala~

As you ran, your absolutely honest feelings were being reflected upon your back
The other side of your shirt was glittering and sparkling, it's like magic.

Within the sounds of the fireworks, the summer season was being erased
With the night wind, the words you said were changing
I can't quite hear the important parts
But I think I understand.

Ah long long long time, I've waited and yearned
Youth is a tad unkind, isn't it?

The everyday taken forgranted... Take back those days.
With you just there, just smiling...
The summer holidays are beginning!
Lalalala~

Sitting on the sandy beach,
Both conscious of our watches...
Listening to the sound of the waves,
We were unable to make any promise.

One day, I will surely feel nostalgic about this...
A future scribbled in sand--I cannot place my hopes on such.

The everyday taken forgranted... Take back those days.
With you just there, just smiling...

"Makka na puruu da"

Summer was coming, so we went to the sea
That sky with that rainbow, I don't want to forget it.

The everyday taken forgranted... Take back those days.
With you just there, just smiling...
The summer holidays are beginning!
Lalalala~
~~

Ignore the "lalalala~". I just have something against "lan"...
Anyway... I dunno what the heck PURUU means and can't seem to find it anywhere, soo...
Lalalala~

Ender's Game Movie

I heard from a friend last summer that a movie was really going to be made for Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. As usual, I felt two ways about the news. One feeling is towards excitement on what it would be like if they can make it really good, and the other feeling is towards dread--dreading how they will butcher it. Then, I came across this comic strip that
introduced more things to dread about it. Good grief, Tekken meets Ender?? LOL. That was really LOL.
Anyway, after that, I decided to do a google on Ender's Game movie, which I've never done before.
I came across a blog that has information about the progress of the movie production so far. It seems Card is actively participating in the making of the movie and the script and has a say in the casting too, so I think it might not turn out bad after all.
The blog also contained other updates on Ender's Game stuff like the battle suits design and the Marvel Comics version. According to that article with the battle suits drawings, the Marvel Comic version was a lot different from the book, but it seems Card had a hand in that difference and was happy about it, so I'm hoping it really is good. After all, attached as I am to the book, I don't think being uber-faithful to the original story will be a good idea for both the movie and the comics. And I agree that it's good if the Marvel version is good according to Card, cuz yeah, that may well just be the basis of all-else-ender-related that will come out from then on.
Still though, I think some elements of the book would still be lost in the process, and I would definitely feel bad about it, no matter how much I know that that is inevitable and that if the makers (of both the movie and the comic) decided to stay uber-loyal, it'll just end up woooooorse.
So, as a fan, I hope that the brand new and different greatness of the movie and comic version will be enough to overshadow the possibly little disappointment I would feel about parts of the book being lost. ^_^

Code Geass R2 18

I just watched it, yep.
And boy, does it have what it takes to wake me up and make me o_O. Well, I won't go spoiler mode anymore. I'll seriously get killed for that. o_O
~~

So, uhh...
Let me just share a couple of interesting Engrish stuff for this episode. :D
First up: Animals in the startup screen.

Well, erm, expected of a pudding earl? Ahahaha. "Koutei-chan"~
Second: Engrish in action, part one~

And more new stuff on the new Guren/SEITEN Eight Elements unit, that is, Kallen's new unit:

Last and the best one of all~ Engrish in action part 2!

Well, gg has been spelling it as Freya, for the past I-dunno-how-many-eps. And who would've thought it was F.L.E.I.A. anyway??
Gooooood grief.
But then again, they actually put F.L.E.I.J.A. on the screen itself. Ermm, where's the J then? Well, it's not there, so let's stick to F.L.E.I.A.? Well, I don't know, really. Geass seems to be one of those anime with blahblahs from Norse mythology. I think I remember Koutei-chan going "RAGNAROK!!" somewhere in s1. Or was that s2 already? I think it was s1 though. Anyway, the thing is the Norse Mythology stuff.
Plus, looking at the steps for FLEIA on the left side if the screen, it mentions Fólkvangr and Sessrúmnir which are both related to Freyja/Freya the Norse goddess.
Insert: Step 3 prolly says "creation" where it got covered.
Well, so this weapon supposedly destroys whatever is within its radius, but...
Let's look at the steps.
Well, step 5 is all we need to be looking at. It says "Space Transfer". So, uhh, maybe not destroy, really?
Also, there's this about Freyja being the receiver of half of the slain in battle.
If you look at the right side of the screen, we can see that FLEIA utilizes different effects for the primary, secondary, and thirdly (urk. engrish. o_O) neutralize zone. The second one isn't shown in the screen I uploaded, but it says: "Super Blast by Void Drag Effect" (I'll reserve my comments for the engrish for when FLEIA comes and destroys me with its engrish. Oh wait, it already did that? lalala~). And for the THIRDLY Neutralize Zone, it only showed as far as: "5000 to 8000meter in R" and got cut off there. So we don't know what wonderful engrish effect they came up with for the THIRDLY zone. Erm, anyway, engrish set aside, maybe it *transfers* a certain portion (I'd say only primary neutralize zone) to an alternate dimension, and obliterates the rest. While this isn't exactly half, it's still a part of the ones "slain in battle". Well, now what remains is where is this alternate dimension? OMG, maybe geass will end up in a gundam world?? Eva world?? Macross world????
Okay. Stop. Stupid comments. It's the engrish, I say!!!
It got to my head. o_O
So, uhh, what could this imply? Why did I have to go read all that crap?
No spoilers.
It's just that I think it's a good way for the directors/storywriters of the show to still have an escape. They can go for all-dead, or not-all-dead option, if they put in the "space transfer" thing. Hahaha, clever trick, creators of Momeland!!!!
Still, I have no idea what happens now. @_@
Lelouch doesn't exactly know that this is all a Momeland illusion, and that the only thing real in his world is actually pizza. Ohnooooezz~ what now, Lulu??
Lululalalalalala~
Maybe I'm thinking too much. o_O
~~
And quote for the day~~
ORENJI, ftw~!!!!

That should be a new move~
Loyalty storm!!! [Insert orenji-uber-loyal sfx here]

1. Don't claim to own what isn't mine.
2. I don't pretend to be an expert on Norse mythology. I only read about the Freya stuff earlier, and just a bit of it. I am kind of interested in Norse mythology though, mostly after Matantei Loki Ragnarok. Ahaha~ I think I have a copy of Edda somewhere. I got it after Matantei Loki and started reading it.. but uhh... obviously failed to continue reading it, and more so to finish reading it. Uhm, well, I'll find time for it someday... ahahaha~
3. What is a Momeland? Go look at episode 1 or 2 of geass. Or maybe 3? Forgot, but it's somewhere there, in one of the Britannian Knightmare startup screens. :D
4. This kinda got lost in my Norse Mythology blahs. Whatever the name of the thing is, the fact is it seems the creators couldn't decide whether to stick to the sucky acronym (F.L.E.I.A.) or the Norse goddess (Freyja) so they inserted a J for the heck of it~~ Thus, F.L.E.I.J.A. ... jeran!!! Jap engrish, yahoooooooo!!!!

Inaka Isha

I know Franz Kafka is just disturbing. But this anime version of "A Country Doctor" makes him even MORE disturbing.
In fact, I don't think it really counts as anime, except that it's an animation made by Japanese and it's in Japanese.
Anyway, I just downloaded it on impulse--I was looking at TokyoTosho, refresh, then.. "hmm... Franz Kafka anime version?? Wow, I have to see that." Then when I saw the thing I went o_O. Ah, so it wasn't the anime I was thinking. In fact, the art made it muuuuch more disturbing than when you just read the original story. Well, of course, it's not really the original, it's translated, but you get what I mean.
I have to say though, despite its being disturbing, I kinda' enjoyed it. Mostly because of the animation quality and the direction, plus the art is really different! Of course, it's the kind of thing you'll enjoy seeing only once. In fact, it's the kind of thing you'll only appreciate during the first 5 minutes of the thing. It's kind of boring after you've gone o_O at the art. But I still watched it all the way 'til the end, after all, it was only 20 mins long, and I wanted to hear the songs. The songs were disturbing! Which means they were well-made, I guess.
All in all, it was worth watching. Although it gets monotonous and gloomy after a while, well, that was the original mood of the story, so... I guess that can't be helped, right? But the style was really something. This adaptation was soo effective at being disturbing, I'd give them 11/10 for that! But watching it wouldn't really be a waste of 20 mins of your life. :D
Well, just to give an idea, I put up a couple of screens.
Also, I'm thinking of uploading the songs, but that all depends on whether I'd feel like ripping them and uploading them. Ahaha.
~~

~~

Well, that's all I guess!!

Nabari no Ou 2nd ED

Seriously, this anime lacks a bit on presentation part. It's like someone telling a story unprepared. But the story it tells really catches me. o_O
This is probably why I've been playing its second ED over and over again this morning.
~~

No lyrics... Too lazy to upload... I'll have to install stuff to split this video... Well, maybe avisynth could do the trick by itself? Then I wouldn't have to really split the thing... Too lazy. lol. I'll replace it when I find one with lyrics. ^_^

~~
I know the twistedness of anime fans and japanese people when it comes to things like these, but... How to put this... I could somehow understand Miharu's otherwise absurd attachment to Yoite. Miharu said something like... Yoite was another him. When you find someone who carries the same despair as you... It really would be like that, wouldn't it? It's not a brother-brother kind of attachment. It's not shounen-ai either, as that particular anime twistedness would have it. It's something else. It's finding yourself in another soul. And just with that, you find even the littlest meaning in your life.
I actually have no words for this. But when I watch that video, what I feel emanates from it is a pureness untouchable... A peace and certainty that belongs only to those two souls. That cannot be touched by the rest of the world.
Plus, the song is just perfect for it! XD
Sigh~
